Cultural Strategy
The Greater London Authority can:
• Ensure architecture and urban design have a significant place within the Cultural strategy
• Develop public awareness of the creativity within architecture and urban design
• Commission existing London bodies with a responsibility for architecture to hold exhibitions, events or installations on architectural themes, in order to enhance public appreciation of the place of architecture among the arts
• Support the development of a virtual map of London at street level detail, showing how the city has evolved, what shapes the city now and who lives where and why
• Encourage public debate on the quality of architecture and the built environment of London
• Improve access to London’s buildings and urban spaces
• Stimulate domestic and international tourism of
London’s architectural achievements
